BCGOP Endorses Steve Hilton for California Governor

The Butte County Republican Party endorses Republican Steve Hilton for Governor of California and urges voters in Butte County to make the right choice in November by voting Hilton. Steve Hilton’s platform includes making California more affordable by cutting taxes and regulations, reforming the state and cutting government waste, dealing sensibly with housing and homelessness, and increasing public safety. BCGOP Endorses James Gallagher for Congress, D1

It was a packed room for the Butte County GOP Central Committee, where members voted unanimously to endorse James Gallagher to run in a special election for Congress to fill the seat left vacant by our dear friend, the late Honorable Congressman Doug LaMalfa . Doug LaMalfa served our country for 13 years in Congress, as well as a combination of 8 years in both the Assembly and Senate. He meant so much to our community—not only as a member of United States Congress, but as a trusted friend and a tireless advocate for the constituents of the North State. We continue to keep our thoughts and prayers with the LaMalfa family, and we are honored to stand alongside them during this profoundly difficult time. We believe there is no one better suited to carry forward Doug’s legacy of service, integrity, and dedication to this region than Assemblyman James Gallagher.

BCGOP Endorses Kasey Reynolds for Chico City Council, District 2

The Butte County Republican Party has also endorsed Chico City Mayor Kasey Reynolds for reelection to the Chico City Council, District 2. Since first being elected in 2018, again in 2022, and being appointed Mayor in 2024, Kasey Reynolds has remained committed to making Chico the sweet and safe community she grew up in. She supports law enforcement, has worked to improve Chico’s roads and neighborhoods, worked to keep public spaces safe and clean, and shown compassion for those in need is paired with accountability. The Butte County Republican Party endorses Tom Van Overbeek for reelection to the Chico City Council, District 6. Van Overbeek has taken the lead in public safety, initiated the red light camera system in Chico, reducing traffic fatalities 79% in 2 years, focused on compensation for Chico PD so our city did not lose officers to neighboring areas with higher pay, and believes in constructive solutions, honest communication, and bridging divides in local politics.
