Effective Date: August 31, 2026
The Butte County Republican Party, also known as the Butte GOP or BC GOP (“BC GOP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information associated with our website, email communications, event registrations, ticket purchases, and donations.
Our Website
The BC GOP website is primarily an informational website. We do not use the website to sell personal information, purchase email addresses, build advertising profiles, or intentionally track visitors for marketing purposes.
We do not intentionally use advertising cookies or similar technologies to monitor visitors across other websites. However, our website-hosting provider, WordPress, security services, embedded content, or other essential service providers may automatically process limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser type, device type, or server log information, as part of operating, securing, and maintaining the website.
Email Communications
We send email communications only to individuals who have voluntarily subscribed to a BC GOP email list, registered for an event and requested communications, or otherwise asked to receive information from us.
BC GOP does not purchase or sell email addresses or mailing lists. We do not provide our email list to outside organizations for their independent marketing purposes.
Recipients may unsubscribe from our general email communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in an email or by contacting us directly.
Event Registration and Contribution Information
When BC GOP holds an event, we may maintain a registration or attendee list. We request only the information reasonably necessary to:
- Process and confirm the registration;
- Communicate important information about the event;
- Maintain appropriate attendance and financial records; and
- Comply with applicable campaign-finance, election, tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.
BC GOP does not use event-registration lists for data mining, profiling, or sale to other organizations.
Political committees may be required by law to collect, retain, report, or publicly disclose certain contributor information. Depending upon the type and amount of a contribution, this information may include the contributor’s name, mailing address, occupation, employer, contribution amount, and contribution date. When disclosure is legally required, the information may become part of a public government filing.
Ticket Purchases and Donations
Online event-ticket purchases and donations are processed through EFundraisingConnections.com, a third-party payment-processing service. The payment transaction takes place through the third party’s website and secure payment system rather than directly through the BC GOP website.
BC GOP does not receive or store your complete credit-card number, card security code, or other complete payment-card credentials.
The payment processor may provide BC GOP with information necessary to document the transaction, fulfill an event registration, issue a receipt, and comply with applicable laws. This may include a purchaser’s or contributor’s name, contact information, transaction date, amount paid or donated, event information, occupation, employer, or other legally required information.
Information submitted through the third-party payment service is also governed by that provider’s own privacy, security, and data-handling policies. We encourage users to review those policies before completing a transaction.
How We Use Information
BC GOP may use information provided to us to:
- Send requested email updates;
- Process and confirm event registrations;
- Communicate changes or important details concerning an event;
- Maintain required financial and organizational records;
- Respond to questions or requests;
- Protect the security and proper operation of our website and activities; and
- Satisfy applicable legal, reporting, and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
When Information May Be Disclosed
BC GOP may disclose information when reasonably necessary:
- To service providers assisting with email delivery, website hosting, payment processing, event administration, accounting, or regulatory compliance;
- To comply with campaign-finance reporting and public-disclosure requirements;
- To respond to a lawful court order, subpoena, government request, or other legal obligation;
- To protect the rights, safety, property, or security of BC GOP, our members, event attendees, or others; or
- With the individual’s authorization.
Service providers are given only the information reasonably necessary to perform their assigned services.
Information Security
BC GOP takes reasonable measures to protect information within its possession. Online payments are handled by a third-party payment processor so that BC GOP does not collect or store complete payment-card credentials through its website.
No website, email system, electronic transmission, or record-storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, we cannot promise absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to satisfy applicable legal, accounting, reporting, and recordkeeping obligations.
Some political-contribution records must be retained for periods established by law, even if an individual later requests removal from general communications.
Links to Other Websites
Our website may contain links to payment processors, government agencies, social-media services, news sources, or other third-party websites. BC GOP does not control and is not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of those outside websites.
Children’s Privacy
The BC GOP website is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly use the website to collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
BC GOP may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
